Best lift to fit 33's comfortably?

I'm buying my uncles 33x12.5x17's off him with 2/3 tread left for $250, and I'm looking at these wheels:

What kind of lift would I need to fit them? I'm looking at a 4" spacer lift on eBay for like $500.

My wrangler is a white '06 4.0L v6 Base X model with a 6 speed manual by the way. I'm not posting pictures on the forum until everything's done.

4 inch SPACER lift!!!! I hope you meant suspension lift?

And sorry about the wheels bud but I didn't see the Jeep TJ 5 on 4.5'' bolt pattern on the link you posted.

But Yes a 4'' lift is ideal for 33x12.5's

I have the 4" lift with 33" x 12.5s and it seems to be working well. Rides much better than a stock 2006 Chevy Suburban 4 X 4 that is my work vehicle!

I thought TJ's use 5x5.5? Shit.

The lift I was taking about was like a 4" Rough Country lift on eBay.

17's? pimp, yo. You'd be fine with "like a 4" RC lift."

the 4'' rough country lift is not a very desirable lift kit. Many dont like the ride quality and craftsmanship of it.

Also consider when lifting a vehicle the "cheap lifts" are not the best way to go.

DPG ultimate kit
Rubicon Express
Full Traction
Cage

Are just some of the lifts companies that can get you a lift to clear 33's correctly. There are many more companies out there with lift kits that will get to the height you want but you need to get all the parts not just some.

Sorry, lol.

It doesn't even need to be all suspension. If a 2" body and 2" suspension lift would work better that's fine. The offroad the street driving ratio is probably going to be like 10/90.

As for the tires, they're stock H2 BFG A/T's that my uncle is giving me for cheap.

alot of ppl run the FT 3'' eco lift. If that is what you want go for it. Seems to have good reviews. You will need to buy shocks seperate.

Two thing on that lift that most change out....

Swaybar disconnects.....some say the clank after a little while.
Front trac-bar.... dont remember why most dont like it for some reason.

I am not saying it is a good or bad kit. Just informing you of what I know about the kit.
If you are interested in the FT kit send Cavey a PM.

I have $1200 for a lift and tires. I figure the wheels will cost me $500 and the tires are going to be $250.

@DistortedTJ: Sorry, I didn't see your reply.

frost: just curious... are you dead set on those 33x12.50x17's ??

because those wheels are no cheaper than, what? $160 each? (as posted on the link you gave) ... times 4 = $640

plus the cost of your uncle's tires @ $250 is a total of $890

now do it my way: (assuming youre gonna spend the same $890 you already established of spending)

you can get some cheap steelies for less than $100 a piece.

lets just say you spent $100 per wheel... = $400 for wheels.

that leaves you with $490 for tires. and the tires in the size you want.

you could in theory purchase tires and rims in the diameter YOU want, not just whats easily available.

im a betting man, and im betting with a little research, you can find wheels and tires to accommodate that expense requirements.

TJ is 5 on 4.5. From experience, I'd shop around before you drop any money on the RC lift. There are better lifts out there for just a little bit more money. If you're going to spend money on your Jeep a suspension in a good place to "up" the investment. In other words, don't go cheap here.

I'll think about it. My parents apparently know some guy who owns America's Tires and said he'd take care of us, so I'm going to go talk to him and see what he says.

If anybody is looking for a rim that looks like the one I originally posted in a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern, check these out:

Okay, I'm looking at the America's Tires website to see what I can get. If I go with 16's, my options open up a lot more and personally, I think it would look better with more tire.

I'm looking at these for now:
http://www.americastire.com/dtcs/fin...%2F5&tc=MBMPRD

At $122 a piece retail, I'd imagine I could get them for cheaper and then have more money to spend on some tires like Cavey's. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure yet. My family owns a high end mobile audio company and we've done a lot of work for the owner over the years I guess. We generally give him cost + 10%, so I'm assuming we'll get something close to the same.

EDIT: The BFG Mud Terrain KM2's sure do look good. What is a 315 compared to? Is that like a 31.5?

Stick with 15's or 17', there are a lot more tire options than the 16's.

id hope that would mean youd get the tires/wheels at cost.

if not, then tell em "so much for friends" !!
say youre gonna go down the street to "joe schmoe tires" and they will match "their so called friends" price.

if they dont play ball... youre better off going down the street to the next tire place....

hell... if youre like me, it never gets old, and you can dick with people all day! not only for knowing you saved a few bucks, but because of the personal satisfaction of knowing youre messing with the system!
