Working on the top plate today.thinking of somthing with grip.not grip tape..a lot of steps I see have no grip and are very slippery when your feet are wet or muddy.which is always.also can't have holes for kids feet to slip into...well see what I come up with..

Those look great! What would you charge for a set? With maybe just a mini step torwd the rear of the rocker? About the size of a boot. My jeep already has side steps

I've seen this thread on JF but I thought it was a custom job just for you, are these available for anyone?

If you can draw it. A local fab shop can cnc cut and bend them.costs a little more but saves a butt load of time and welding materials.

True but w/o the ability to do the work yourself it ends up being cheaper, in most cases, to buy what you want. It has been a few years since I last priced out a project and the economy has tanked since then so it might be more economical but most shops, a busy one anyway, do not like to do one off jobs. Price comes way down if you want 10 or more.

It is the press break large enough to make the bends that is my problem. A shop might form my flat patterns cheaply since that is so simple.

Rubi OEM rock rails from craigslist, painted body match by a body shop, replaced my Sahara plastic steps today. $210 invested.

I have the Rugged Ridge Rock Guards. $200.00 with life time warranty on them. I have been knocked into a rock with them and they held up nicely no dents. I use spray on bedliner to touch up on them if they get scuffed up offroad. I'm happy with them. They're also nice for when in a parking lot no door dings Sometimes i see paint left behind from the other guy who decided to slam his door into my Jeep and instead hit the guards.

I went with a set of rock rails from Smittybuilt, they look great and protect the rocker panel as well as serving as a step up so my wife and kids can get in without jumping up

I also needed a functional step low enough for my wife and kids to use. I went with a frame mounted guard which is not as strong as a tub mounted version and I do lose some clearance as a result. On a positive note, my wife can get into the Jeep fairly easy with the step.
