If you go through jasper you have to get someone else to put it in right? One of their mechanics?

Are you going to R&R the tranny yourself? Well, either way, I'd start researching reputable transmission shops in you area. Most shops will rebuild yours if you take it in, or let them R&R and rebuild it. It's nice to be able to walk in and talk to someone face to face if there's ever any need for warranty work.

Don't know. My neighbor who works in a private shop did my work. I do not know if the shop in any way has to have some "affilation" with Jasper or "any shop/individual" can get one. Go the the Jasper web site. I am sure they have info.

My trans and all is already out. I did it last week after work. Can't decide if I want to attempt the rebuild myself or not. The rebuild kits with everything are about 250. Another 500 and I got a reman done right with warranty you know.

X2 been down this road before. I'd find a reputable small shop to rebuild it for you. It'll get more attention that an assembly line tranny.

Cant find any good shops around here. Called a bunch today at work and 90% of them spoke broken english and i could'nt understand what the hell they were saying. Found one guy that said if i brought it to him he would tear it down for free and see what was wrong with it. Then give me an estimate based on that. Might take it over there but at 60 an hour plus parts im still getting into remanufactured cost. But it sounds like assembly line remanufactured stuff is maybe a bad idea.
