So my gf has a 2004 tj with a 4" lift and 33" bfg's. I haven;t lift my yj yet so i figured I would ask you guys for your opinions on shocks for her TJ... She currently has some Rough Country's though were not sure because the numbers on the side are gone. I know she doesn't want OME because she hates yellow and it wont look good on her silver and black jeep.
How do you test to see if shocks are bad? They are a little rusty on the main body. On my cars if the ride was bad it was time but on my yj and her tj they always ride like a dump truck...lol
They will feel soft. but sometimes its hard to tell. The Rough Country stuff is alright for more street use but is not made with the same strength of some others.
Most don't use RC. just b/c of the price but RC is priced low b/c of the way they do business. They don't have a good technical department and sell mostly through distributors, not really ever facing the end user.
Do yourself a favor and spend a little more.
Buy a tool because you need and will use it, not because its cheap.
OME shocks can be painted. Scuff them up with sandpaper or scotchbrite and paint them whatever color you like. Its a Wrangler not a work of art.
License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote.
