Bestop Hard

Are they hard to put on? My 2005 Wrangler has lights already in it, do I need to hook up the dome light for the top? Also, I just bought a MOPAR® Jeep® Logo Cab Cover, and wondering if this is a good one? Thanks!

The hard top should be just like the one that came on the Jeep initially. (If it didn't come with one, it'll still fit... It's uniform). It should come with the harnesses and such that you need to hook up your peripherals.

Also, MOPAR was a good choice. OEM is always best.

You gotta like a guy who lives in Alaska and doesn't yet have a hard top for his Jeep!

Hard tops are only hard to put on because they are large and awkwardly shaped. You need help to avoid potential scrapes and drops.

The 05 top should have a dome light and wiring. Plug-n-play.

Your signature line says you have a "salvage yard soft top."

It's not so much that they are "hard" to put on, but that the hard tops are awkward due to their size and shape. The easiest way to put it on would be if you had a couple of people to help, so you can line things up just right and set it down gently so you won't end up scraping anything or dropping the top and what not.

I'm getting deployed on saturday, and I'm going to have my friends put it on for me! I just got the cab cover on tonight, and it looks great! I had one of those problems with the back window zipper getting suck! That thing pissed me off for hours!

Yeah, I'm just yanking your chain. I buy stuff for my rigs that way still, even with company discount.

Bestop also makes the OEM soft tops, so bleh.

Don't know if we make the Mopar Jeep covers or not.

Stay safe. Take the keys to your Jeep with you (assuming your friends are like mine).

I have the Mopar cab cover (bought it used for a steal) and it works great without the softtop on. Comes down over the entire cab and seals it off. Mines been on through some over night rain storms and there was no water inside.

However, I started using it with the soft top up (didn't want to put the windows in), and realized that the sides will not come down and completely cover where the windows are. Cover fits fine, it simply isn't long enough on the sides. No problem if there's no rain, but if a storm happens to surprise you, the rear seat area is going to get wet along the sides.

This is on a 2004 LJ.

If I ever need to replace the cab cover, I'll look around at how the others fit. I would still recommend this one, just be aware.

The cab cover fits great! I know what your saying about the sides. I bought it, because of the back window problem.
