Bestop Oversize Tire Carrier

Does anyone have the oversize tire carrier by Bestop. My question is, can it be used with the factory rear bumper? also, if you have it, how do you like it and was the install dificult?

This thread was talking about it a week or so ago.

And you can go here to see installation instructions.

I've never installed one, but it's not supposed to be too hard.

I was looking at the same tire carrier and I believe it will work with the stock bumper, I first saw it at SEMA and was very impressed. I have looked at alot of carriers and think that this one would be the sturdiest since it has more than one attach point unlike most others, and it opens with the tailgate not seperate.....I'm still saving peanuts to buy it

Oops - sorry my bad. Sometimes I read these too quickly.

YES, works with stock bumpers. Body and suspension lifts are not a problem. Will not work with the Renegade model.

as stated before.. I have had one.. about 4 years ago, if the design is still the same.. only issue with the long screw/bolt in the center that held the wheel lug mount didn't really attach well IMO. Other than that good product..

I love mine. It looks like the weight is carried by the tailgate but it isn't. One handed operation and easy.

The big screw in the middle - once it's adjusted right it's fine and gives no trouble.

One of the stock rubber bumpers has to be removed - reposition it so the carrier presses against it when closed to prevent any bouncing.

It's no wonder the country is falling apart - stupidity abounds!
