Bestop sliders

I just got my Wrangler and was thinking about getting the Bestop sliders for it for winter. I have to show ID everytime I go on and off base and the flaps suck in the cold rain.

What's everyone take on them?

I have a buddy who runs them on his 03 and swears by them. No more zippers, he can open a little for ventilation, just plain easier. His is also his primary vehicle so the soft top basically never comes off.

I am fulltime in the ANG and also have to show ID to get on base. I bought my sliders here. The price then was $406 shipped. Now looks like $410.

They are great for getting on base AND make the cab significantly quieter. I say it was easily worth the price. I am also glad I went this route and not with full doors when I bought the Wrangler. Nice in winter and summer!

I've got them but only run them from about November until April.
They are great in the winter - seal better, quieter, etc.
Also nice on those fall/spring days when you only want to open them a little.
Downsides - they only open a little.
The bottom of the window is much higher than on the soft windows. So they're good for toll booths, but too high/small to reach the tube at the bank drive through.
They are heavy (if you're taking them in and out).
When I have the top up, I tend to throw the windows in the back seat alot. Don't think I'd want to do that with glass ones. I'd also be concerned about breaking them on the trails.

My wife bought me a set for my b-day.They work great no more zippers getting snagged or misaligned teeth being stuck. Down side is they do only open half way just enough to get drive through food through. Definately better than the zipper windows though. I hated when offroad and getting my side windows covered in mud and not being able to see unless I stopped and unzipped them. Caused me to loose a challenge by 3 seconds since I lost sight of which way to go. Now I can just slide the window either way and its alot quicker.
There is someone in my head but it's not me

It's definitely convenient. I don't find them to be all that heavy. I have the hard upper sliders and don't have any problems taking them in and out. Anyone know where to find replacement glass for them? The drivers side sliding glass was broken and was replaced with plexiglass when I bought it. I am having a hell of a time finding the glass for it and the creaking of the plexiglass is driving me nuts.

Replacement Glass

You'll probably have to contact the factory. Since it's fairly thin temered glass, you won't have any luck getting an automotive glass shop to cut you some because they'd cut them out of laminate and it would be too thick for the tracks they slide in.

Best Top's website says:

Only Replacement Parts for Bestop products are available for direct purchase from Bestop Customer Service at 1-800-845-3567.

So, it looks like if you want just the glass, you'll have to call them.

Good luck!

I finally got them about a month ago. So far I'm happy with them.
