Bestop sliders

I bought the besstop sliding windows. I find them to reduce road noise on highway not as much flapping. It is very convient when using atm or toll booth. Very easy to remove like the plastic windows good clean lines with top off. The only down side would be the added weight. Hopefully it will not wear out my hinges.Has anyone had a problem with them. At this point I am very happy

I have not seen many people use them but I doubt the added weight would hurt the hinges? My 1/2 doors weight a lot less then my full doors do.

I have Steel Horse sliding windows, and I like em. Only issue is the weatherstripping gets pushed around by the glass when you open and shut it so it can bunch up and stop the glass from sliding. I just need to glue the rubber down in there.

Cool I think I am going to get some instead of selling my TJ. It will cut down on noise, and I will be able to make longer road trips without going deaf. I just can't bring myself to sell my TJ. They seem to be closing all the trials in my area, so I have to drive further to get to anything.

You thinking of selling because it's noisy?

You aren't a REAL jeeper, are you?

I had a pair till the TJ rolled, need to buy another set. They are handy but I solved the toll booth problem with an ezy pass , works on all the toll roads and such here in the NJ/NY/PA area though the balance gets sucked down fast when I do a week of work in NYC and use the Lincoln tunnel at $6 a pop...
If I knew where to get the glass replaced I'd try to revive the broken one.

Try an Auto glass place. My cousin works for a Glass place, he was able to make a new slider for my friends RV. Worth a try.

I have to drive on the freeway for over 50 miles to get to the closest trial since all the *&^% liberals out here are closing everything down.

I am not sure what it means to be a real Jeeper.... I will keep you posted on that one.

you should be lucky. My closest one is 80 miles or something away (i think) the next one after that is 150ish.

I guess a "REAL" jeeper wouldn't need a freeway. Just pick a line and go.

I love that idea, but the line would lead to tickets, fines, higher insurance premiums, etc...

Of course, I could always join the police department because they have an off road unit that goes off road all the time to stop other people from going off road. I think I heard someone say it was because we would hurt ourselves.

Noise = freeway

no noise = trail

You just don't get it.

A few years ago I was headed home from NJ and there was a major accident on the 4lane hiway that cuts north to the poconos from the lehigh valley. I just pulled off and tooled around looking for a powerline I could see that went over the mountain. Found the entrance and went then looked back and there were 5 others jeeps and a land cruiser in back of me. Took us 30 minutes to get over it and I have used it several times as a 'shortcut' [less miles but takes 4 times as long]. They all knew my jeep and approx where I lived and figured I knew where I was going Funny how that stuff just happens....

I ordered this top this morning. It claims that it will cut noise.... I didn't get the sliders because I think (as rebelBullDawg325 pointed out) it will cut the opening of the window.
It will be interesting to see if it is as quiet as it claims. I have the cheapest top money can buy right now... it came with the Jeep.

Believe it or not the OEM top is anything but cheap, it's about high middle grade, there are some real POS's out there that are much worse.

The one I am replacing is one of those POS. When I say it came with the Jeep ... I probably should have clarified... it was used.

I think I'd trade my sounds-like-a-violin-section-warming-up tinnitus for your simple hiss.
