Bestop Supertop ~ Bulb Seal

I am trying to do an install for a 99 TJ with full metal doors. In Bestops instruction manual it refers to a "Bulb Seal" that appears to be riding on top of the windshield frame. When I took off the old windshield header i did not notice any kind of weather stripping above windshield frame only what appeared to be a bead of adhesive.

Is this Bulb Seal they referred to missing .I have done a search trying to find this part with no luck.

I am guessing that someone or several people out here know this answer and would appreciate any and all help.

I bought the same top,and I didn't get the bulb seal thing understood, either!I just thought, well, sometimes you just gotta say WTF,and take some chances.I followed the instructions, and just put it on.It works fine, with or without the mysterious "bulb seal",and I have had no problems to date.

soft top or hardtop?

soft top u should have gotten a bar that bolts to the top of your winshield and uses stock weathefproofing (which u are missing)

hard top also uses the stock weather stripping so I think u need to just buy some stick on weather stripping and your done!

Thanks. I went ahead and put the top on.The top looks sweet and my jeep does not smell all musty now.
It is a soft top, and I think your right about the weather stripping being gone. Is there a certain type of weatherstripping that would be best for this application? And would clear silicone work for securing the stripping to the top of the windshield frame or do you have to buy the adhesive sold for this purpose?
