bestop supertop nx for tj

I recently installed a supertop nx on my tj. So far it seems great but I have no clue how to flip the first section back for sun roof type exposure. Let alone how to put it all the way down. The header channel is a simple step to un do but what next? I get stumpped at the door surrounds. Anybody? Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! I guess its the door surrounds that are my problem, I can't get any slack to pull them out or get them started. Maybe just need another go tomorrow

When I bought my 2000 earlier this year, the PO had just installed the NX on it. Those surrounds are tough - even after using them for a while, it still takes some force to get them out. But they do seem to be getting easier and easier. Try pressing down from the top with one hand and pulling the plastic out of the channel with the other two hands - that seems like what I have to do

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still working on the surrounds but feel better knowing I'm in the right place. On a side note do either of you take ur tj w soft top thru a car wash? If so, brushless? Or...? Special soap to avoid?

Does the release pins pull towards the outside or the inside? Besttop updated the NX and will send out new door surrounds to those that have the first gen surrounds.

That's the first gen surrounds unless someone installed it incorrectly. The newer version makes the top look funny with the pins on the outside and doesn't allow the Velcro to touch.

I found this out one morning, going to work, one of the pins fell out of the original surrounds while the sunrider was back.
