When you take the top down can you store it with or without the windows in the jeep either back seat or behind the back seat. Can it be rolled up. I haven't seen one in person yet but I think I am going to buy one and I live where rain shows up out of nowhere so I need to have it with me.

Everything needed comes with top. My hard top spends most of its time stored now.

Never rolled up the side window per se, but I guess you could. When rain is in the forecast I tend to leave the side windows on & carry the rear rolled up.

Without the windows in place, it is a safari top. The best part about this in safari mode is it attaches like a factory top at the windshield, so even if you get caught in rain, it won't leak in the front area.

Yes. Absolutely everything is included with the Trektop. You will not need to buy anything else to install this top. All you will need to supply is time to install it.

I'm gald it was useful. Simply put, the difference in material was worth it enough for me to take the Denim version off, pack it up and ship it back when the correct Diamond top came in.

Don't get me wrong, the Denim is great, and I was satisfied with it before I realized it was not what I ordered; however, the Diamond material is a nicer color and is thicker.

The side windows are much larger than the OEM style side windows. They also have a hard plastic piece that runs from top to bottom in the rear corners of each side.
You would have to work around the plastic inserts and the sheer size of the windows to get them to reasonably fit inside the Jeep. Add some sort of protective holder for them (to protect the windows from being scratched) and you will have a large package of windows to store in the Jeep.

Not saying you can't, but it's not going to be as easy or space consious as OEM style windows.

Sorry for forgetting to "multi-quote".

Oh, ok. I mis-read what you were asking.

You can unhook the front frame section from the windshield and door surrounds and lay it back like you would with the OEM top. It's not going to be as secure though, because it won't be connected to anything. It will just sit back there on the back wheel well. I doubt it would go anywhere, but it's not something I have tried to do.

No issues. Still a jeep and not a Mercedes. But it is a great improvement.

I'll be ordering the Trektop w/ new uppers soon. Then I'll just have to pray for a warm day!

I do have one question:
Do any of you run with the sunrider open at highway speeds? Is it safe, or does it flop around like a trout on the beach?
I have. No issues. It just sits there.

Great! A Trektop thread! I've had my Jeep 5 months and now looking for a soft top for the summer. This is a VERY informative thread...thanks to you all!

OK....I really like the look of the top, and the options such as safari/bikini top. I do have one key question though. I like the concept of getting the Jeep completely naked...that is...top and sides clear (and yes the doors off). My bro-in-law does this with his jeep and I love it. Thus far...I've not seen any pics with the Trektop completely off. Is this doable? Or would it be a complicated procedure? Or....if I'm looking to take off (or at least retract) the top completely....maybe I'd best look for another style? Thanks for the help guys (and gals!)

i think it's like a hardtop, in the way you take it off and put it somewhere. you just undo the windshield header latches, and the straps in the rear and it's off.

i think.

How close a match in color is the "spice" to the tan cage covers?

The best price I've seen for the NX is $542.99 with "FREE" shipping. Anybody know of a better deal?

We don't have any 70+ degrees coming anytime soon, but I'm wondering about installing a new Trektop (2 dr. JK) if I have it and the jeep in a heated shop (over 70 deg.), or does it need to actually be heated up in the sun? I don't want to risk tearing anything or pulling out any seams, but I'm anxious to get the hardtop off.

I put mine on in dec here in San Antonio it was in the 60's but sunny at the time. Just make sure you zip the zippers first then stretch and pop the moldings in. It's a tight fit but it will go. After you have done it a couple of times you can take off and put on in less than 20 min by yourself. Let it set in the sun for a few hours first.

Thanks madkinstx. Actually I wondering if there is no sun - can I do it entirely indoors where it can't absord any heat from the sun. Anybody tried this?

What worked for me is to get the top on as much as you can and then turn the jeep on with the heater on full blast for about 20 minutes. Worked great

How long does it take to loosen up. I've had it on since Monday it has been sunny and 75/80 the last couple days. I had the back window out went to put in and it is still extremely difficult. Haven't taken the side windows out as I am letting it stretch still. Please tell me this gets easier
