I just put the top on and left the windows off all together. I'll have to wait till a sunny day when I'm at home to put them in. Mean time, the safari tops is great even during the storms tonight.

Anybody have an idea on why the back window bar won't seal against the tailgate completely, took the windows out for the first time Monday, jeep has been sitting in the 85 degree sun since and it still won't fit tightly

Having the same problem so I put the back window in after struggle yet again and have been letting it stretch more. All windows are still tight as he'll and mine has been on for a little over a week

Same problem here as well. I think I might try to take the straps off the interior, flip up the sunrider sunroof, try to shift the top back a bit and put the bar into the bracket then close the sunrider. Hope it streches a bit to work properly.

I got my spice Trektop NX Tuesday (ordered from Quadratec Saturday, crazy fast shipping!). Put the top on Tuesday evening and the windows on Wednesday. The zippers for the windows won't go all the way, still needs a bit of stretching, but it'll work for now.

I think I love this top. It's my first soft top. I strongly considered a Supertop NX but chose the Trektop NX because I have my dog with me a lot when I'm driving. I wouldn't want the top down with her inside. Given the freaking huge sunrider on the Trektop NX, and how easily you can change the setup to suite the situation, I figured it would fit the bill.

The rear support bar on mine is bowed down further than I'm thinking it should be. Maybe it's because it's so tight (bow chica bow wow) or maybe I didn't install something correct. I dunno. Hopefully this weekend I'll have time to take it all off and put it back on, see if I can get it to fit a little better.

The middle of the Z channel for my rear window was bowed out of the box, so I couldn't easily just clip it in like I would have liked. That's ok though, I sprayed a little lube in the channel and slid the window in from one side. Weird but it worked.

So all in all I love it. Got a bit of a sunburn from running around with the sunrider open the last two days, it's awesome. I took it on the interstate with the sunrider open just to see how it'd work. Didn't seem too bad. There was a weird noise a couple times, sounded like something was going to pop loose, but it turned out to be the prop bar moving a bit lol. So yeah, lots of wind at 75mph but very doable.

I'll try to post a couple pics this weekend, if time allows. My dog loves posing for pictures in the jeep so we'll see what happens.

Got my trektop a few months ago but was finally able to get it on yestersday cuz it was nice and sunny..what a pain in the a@@! The side window zippers and back window channel and zippers really tested my patience..thank god for a neighbor who helped squeeze, push and pull the top on with me..I still need it to stretch out a bit more but all in all a great top and it looks awesome! Drove over the verrazano bridge this morning and the top was quieter than the hard top.. Not a sound nor that eerie lifting feeling..cheers bestop!

The sunrider is a great feature. I made some Spiderweb Shade type shades out of a mesh tarp I bought at Harbor Freight to block some of the direct sunlight from beating down on me. So much more enjoyable! Still get lots of air and sun, but stil in semi-shade. I was able to buy the tarp(8x10), grommets and bungie balls for like $41. Enough material to make the top and all 3 rear windows. No need to remove them either as they dont effect the NX top.

That's pretty creative, props That'd be great for longer drives. I'm going to have to look into that

Everyone on here says they are having trouble with the zippers. Why, the zippers are the first thing you should attach before the tailgate bar or the windshield clamps or the body molding clips. I will try to post a write up this weekend with pictures. My top is so easy to put on I can do it in 15 minutes by myself.

Here are a few. I put in pockets as well on the overhead one which come in pretty handy.

This last one shows the shades in place with the windows on.

I did attach zippers first but still wasn't stretched out enough since there was about a 2"-3" gap from the bottom of the window to the side rails.. Had to open zippers some and really play with pulling and tucking.. I'm sure once the top sits day to day in the sun and stretches itself, I'll be able to take it off and put it back on by myself too..then I'll be just like you! Wavey!

I hate to get this off topic, but can you give some more details on how you constructed these? Did you overlap and sew then edges?

Folded them a few times and sew them up. Don't make them too thick or you won't be able to put the grommets in. Especially in the corners.

Got one last night for a friend's Jeep I'm getting to build up (2006 Rubi). Going to let it lay out on the back of my black Avalanche to get warm and toasty, then do the install based on the OP's post.

I'll be sure to get pics. Any pic requests for certain aspects of the install?

You could always install it on my jeep and get some pictures of me driving off. I would like to see that.

I installed mine around Christmas. Love it still. I have yet to take the windows out but have had the sunroof off a few times. Only slight complaint is the "rails" on the back window and the sunroof that have to be removed are tough to get undone. They snap back on easy enough. They are trickey but I guess it is the trade off for a tight fit. No regrets on the purchase and it looks much better than the stock soft tops in my opinion.

Thinking of selling my hardtop and picking this bad boy up. For anyone that lives in the South West how is it during the winter? You also need to have the doors surrounds alright correct?

if you want to go totally topless with this top, how hard is it to do?

My friend's top is here and I checked to ensure all parts are there. Nicely packed. Pieces are laying out getting flat, and of COURSE a cold front came through yesterday. lol. Installing tomorrow after it sits out in the sun for a few hours (on a black truck for added heat).

I ordered this from autoanything.com and it got to me with a piece of the door surround broken off. After almost 2 weeks of trying to get it replaced, I was told that the top is on back-order until July!! Their customer service is TERRIBLE! Won't ever order from them again... Any idea if you can get individual parts right from Bestop? I emailed this morning but haven't heard anything back yet. So anxious to install it and completely disappointed that I can't. Is Geoff around?

**Just want to add that I'm really sorry if this comes off as complainy... I am just totally bummed out that I only get to read about installing my top and I can't actually do it!

Had sort of a similar issue with one of the bolts not lining up correctly on one of my surrounds. It still worked, but the treads ended up stripping. Anyway I ordered mine from 4wd.com. Their service got Bestop on the phone with me & they had me a new surround within the week. Can't speak for autoanything, but it might be something you could suggest to them.

Thanks for the reply, Powder Monkey! I actually decided to try emailing Bestop myself and see if they could help me out at all. A couple hours later, they had my new window surrounds ordered (covered under warranty) and a rush placed on them. Pretty awesome customer service, if you ask me! I will forever be a loyal Bestop customer because of their great response.
