Bestop Trektop NX TJ Unlimited

Has anyone bought or seen a Bestop Trektop NX on a TJ Unlimited.

Does it use or replace the factory hardware/window frame?

Noisy/quiet?

How does the sunrider feature work?

Would you buy again?

Also...is a special header required or is it a factory style clamp-on?

Yes they have...

Bestop Trektop NX and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware-RH2

OP the Trektop is a frameless design. There is only a frame for the sunrider feature and door surrounds. The new NX line of tops also uses factory style hardware where necessary.

I can't tell you much more than that. They are new tops, not a ton of information on them yet.

I called 4wd, they do not have them in stock. Also tried Morris 4x4 and quadratec. They are supposed to begin shipping at the end of the month.

Not having them in stock and not released are totally different. If you want this top you need to buy it so you have a better chance of getting one next shipment.

I beg to differ....

They are available to pre-order but Bestop has not started shipping them out yet so in my opinion Bestop has not "released" them yet. That is much like the CO2 tank that 4wd is advertising that I ordered >8 months ago and last time I asked I was told that they havent actually released them but were taking pre-orders. Kinda hard to stock a product that Bestop hasnt shipped out/released yet.

Anyways, I did talk to a sales rep last week and he said that they were expecting bestop to start shipping them out to their warehouses this week so I am keeping my fingers crossed that he was correct and that I am on the 1st batch.

I was lucky enough to have Bestop use my jeep for testing and fitting. Better to be lucky than good I always say.

A Bow framed top will be easier to take all the way down. On the Trektop NX (bowless) once you have taken the windows off, you have a bikini top that goes all the way to the back of the sport bars. Then you actually lift the bikini portion off of the sport bars like a bikini top and will have to be rolled up and stored in the back of the Jeep.

It depends, you may after a little bit of time get used to it and have it on and off in as little or shorter time than your bow top.

Yup... Just put the windows in a safe place as to not scratch. The Bikini Portion can stay in the back in case of a freak storm or for some shade on the trail.

We have shipped a bunch of TJ Trektop NX's to the retailers. We should start seeing people with them very, very soon.

Hey! I've driven that Jeep. Calmly, quietly, and politely.

It's a very nicely set-up LJ. Thanks for letting us borrow it.

It was my pleasure, anytime! I'm going to Moab in a couple weeks so maybe I can drum up some more interest for the top.
