Bestop Underseat Lock Box + Fold/Slide Seats + Seat Risers??

so i got a free bestop underseat lock box when i ordered my instatrunk back in november but havent successfully installed it as it doesnt fit! I searched threads on WF and JF for a solution but havent really found any definite solution for my situation.
Here's the plan: go to home depot and sports authority and pick up bolts and hockey pucks, install said pucks under driver seat, attempt to install lock box.
Does anyone have any experience with this install? Whether its with a seat riser, or the lock box. I would love to be able to throw my GPS, Head Unit Face Plate, and Radar Detector in there.
I dont mind hacking up the seat mount as i lost the fold function months ago and only use the passenger seat for getting people in/out. plus i am not running a rear seat anyhow and have my spare in the back w/ a duster.

Then why don't you just cut off the lever that interferes with the lockbox? I bought one and it wouldn't fit because of that lever. If you don't care that the seat doesn't fold/tumble, just modify the mechanicals of the seat to allow it to fit. It sounds like your cable from the seatback has already broken since you said you lost the option some time ago. JMO...

yeah, that was what i was thinking. i didnt fold the seat when i had the functionality...so it doesnt matter if i lose it now that its broken. do you think i can get the box installed by just cutting the lever off?

I installed the Bestop Lockbox under the driver's seat. I used one washer, which wasn't enough to allow the seat to move front and back. I'm going to add another washer to see if that will work; I might have to get longer bolts. It is pretty difficult to access the front inner bolt of the seat frame. I was thinking about installing a seat-riser kit, but I thought it might be a safety issue. I called Bestop and they were not aware of the problem and offered no help. If I had known this, I would have just bought a Tuffy locking glove box. The free lock box was the reason I bought the Instatrunk.

me too. and about the seat risers; Rough Country sells a 1.25" riser for $25. some people say the box fits with the risers, some say it doesnt.

I saw the RC seat-riser kit on ebay, and it's the lowest priced one out there. It looks like it would fit and allow more space between the lock box and the seat. I just don't know if it's a good idea to raise your seat in case of a roll over. I have a soft top, which offers no protection.

tons of people have done this mod. even tall people 6'1+. the hardware is Grade 8, so it is very strong. i have heard mixed reviews on the fitment of the lockbox with the seat risers
