Big Problem!!! need help with skid plate

After going mudding my skid plate got ripped off the bottom, i had it outside so i could reinstall it but before i got around to someone stole it from my front yard, i guess they thought it was scrap metal. Now im left with no skid plate and only my motor mounts holding everything up. I am extremely short on money and i need a solution fast, has anyone made a skid plate to hold the Tcase up, i would be happy with that for now, i dont need the entire plate right?

Anyone help or suggestions would be great

first thing i would do is put a jack or something under there to hold everything up, dont want to let it just hang there, you can get the skid plate pretty cheap if you want the OEM one check ebay $70-100 used

Junkyard was my first thought but they dont have any wranglers
I looked on ebay and shipping is just as much as a used skid plate

Bad bolts, turns out the front two were missing causing it to sag and then plowing through deep mud put to much stress on it

you certainly can't drive it like that, and i hope you have the transmission supported to prevent damaging your motor mounts. the motor mounts can't take that leverage.

sounds like you're SOL to some degree. you'll probably need new nutserts too, since you likely damaged those when ripping the t-case skid off. you also need to look into frame rust and frame damage. you might be able to find a skid online, pay for shipping...look at local craigslist & local 4x4 clubs too. nutserts can be had online & from the local dealership.

and yes, you could weld a skid in place. i'd never recommend that for multiple reasons, and its one of the dumbest things you could possibly do...but it is doable.

Must live in a rough area if people are stealing scrap steel from peoples yards lol.

Anyways, order a new skid or one off of cl, then install it. Like unlimited said with the nutserts and such. Don't weld it on, thatd be the worst thing you could do.

Like mentioned above, I would jack up the tranny to get the weight off the motor mounts.

But, I would use a 4x4 or something to support it. If someone stole your stock skid plate, I doubt a jack would last 3 minutes after you walk into the house!

My stock skidplate is still sitting outside my friends shop in a scrap pile. I'm sure there are some hanging out unused in your area. Search some local forums, post a thread in the wanted section, or on Craigslist. You never know what turns up.
