Big problems

Well my fellow TJ owners, I have HUGE problems with mine. I was driving up to my favorite store, 4wd Hardware, last Thursday when all of the sudden the Jeep starts vibrating like there's rumble strips under both sides. So I pull off at the next exit, thinking I have a flat that I hadn't noticed before. So I take my walk around and low and behold I notice my transfer case skid plate is hanging down about 4 inches on one side. So of course now I'm lying on the ground taking a better look, sure enough my frame has rusted out where that skid plate bolts up. I thought, now I'm screwed. Luckily I have a buddy who knows how to weld, so I recruited him to box in my frame. The worst part is I need it in just under 3 weeks for vacation. I don't really need help with this problem I just wanted to let all my fellow Jeepers know and hope for some support. Cross your fingers everyone.

Run your towstrap around the jeep top to bottom a few times, i'm sure that'll hold it on...

Good luck with it!!

It's good to take note of this. A 12 year old Jeep has frame that has rusted through. Good time to get under yours and check things out.

Good news everyone! She's all fixed up. She's actually been fixed or over a month now but this is the first chance I've had to get on to post anything about it. I did take pictures I will post in the next few days. I have before and after pics.

a little help

Hi everybody, new to the site..just purchased a 1999 the vehicle but has alot of little problems. I've fixed the 55MPH death wabble, now the "Check Engine" is on and the OBD said it was the TPS.. two new units later and it's still on! and the OBD is still saying the TPS..and ideas?

Second the horn..did not work when I got the jeep, started to sound when I turned the steering wheel, but , today, horn is sounding and will not stop!

Hope someone can tell me the fix, I'm looking forward to chatting with you all...I don't participate on these sites so please be kind if I mis-spell or spell out things.

Can't help with problems, but welcome to the site. Lots of good info.

You tacked your post as a reply to another. Try posting as a new so others may be more inclined to read.
