big tires = MPH tripometer ?

Ok got a stupid question here.....already found out that with my 33's on when traveling 60 mhp by the gauge i am really doing 71 mph...so i know there is a difference there, but does this also effect the tripometer, does this make the trip run slower than it is suppose to be running. And if so ..is there a way I can get this to spec's with the wheels I have???????

There's a gear for the speedo that needs to be changed.

There are several web spots that will tell you the proper speedo gear you need to make your speedo correct. (However why is it a bad thing if your odometer is rolling slowly? It shows you have less miles than you really do). Post up what gearing you have right now with your 33's and I'm sure one of us can tell you what tooth count speedo gear you need.

There is a little gear that you buy from your dealership
it is like 10-15 dollars and takes a few minutes to change

However.. I can not find the page that gives you what part number you need..

oh and yeah you are actually traveling further than the tripometer says

so it benefits ya hahah

Thanks guys...I knew I was going fasters than what reads, so also figured the odmeter was going slower, this good in a way but bad in another way since I just brought it with only 5500 miles on , being an 04 now I wonder how many miles does it really have...

4 banger
4 inch lift
33x12.5
4.10 gears saving up for the 4.88

it is not going to be off that much
but over time it will add up

If you feel like testing it
when u r on the highway and u see the Mile Markers along side the road when u pass one see how far your tripmeter tells you u have went within the 2 signs (which are a mile)

and also u can test your speed this way... it is not super accurate but close.. cause 60mph is 1 mile a minute so u can set cruise or such at 60 and see how long it takes you
