First post on here and I'm looking to upgrade suspension and tires this weekend. I went with the Rough Country 4" X-Series Suspension lift for my 97 TJ. I was wanting to keep my stock rims for the time being and wanted to put on 33s. Is it doable to put 33x10.5x15 on them?

Yes you can fit 33x10.5's on stock wheels on a TJ.

You can run 35" tires with wheel spacers if you have the fender clearance. With 33's or 35's you may need to shim the steering bump stops to keep the tire out of your lower suspension arm and sway bar.

Ok I really wanted to put 35s on it but I dont think my rear axle will support the either. I will probably just stick with 33s for now. Thanks

I wouldn't do anything over a 10.50" width. Anything wider is going to wear the center of your tire out due to the arching effect that having a side tire on a slim rim will cause.

Duratracs are great. Mother has them on her TJ and I floored her Jeep up a steep long red clay muddy hill that lead me into the parking lot of an Ashleys furniture store. I do "illegal" wheeling every now and then.

I have 31x10's on stock wheel....rubs on full turns. Gas mileage is around 13-15 mpg.

Mines an 01, it originally came with 205's, the previous owner put 225's on and when I got it I got 235's, next time I'm thinking of 30's or 235's depends on which is cheaper at the time.

just put new shoe on the girl.... some hercules trail diggers M/T 31x10.50r15. a couple of pics i got today.... and they to fix a wobble at 50mph. but haven't gone a full tank yet so can't tell ya mpg yet or how they hold up in the mud/sand. that will come

Im so confused on what to do! i have an 06 jeep wrangler se with a 3.25 lift on it. i need some new tires but im so lost about the sizing! i know i can put 32's on it but thats about it! any help?

I was told with stock steel rims the biggest I could put on without rubbing is a 30, but thats at stock height

just wanted to say that those tires look great on the canyon rims. wish mine came with those rims! was thinking of doing black soft 8's or looking for a set of those used. I am planning on the same tire size with a 2" lift

When I had my 98 TJ, I put 32x11.50 AT's on there. (MT's would have rubbed the flares)

No lift, no rub (except at full turn but added washer to steering stops), and everything else stock.... even w/ my swaybar disco'd

Your 32" AT tires were rubbing if you took your Jeep on an uneven-enough trail, you just didn't realize it.

I have one other problem running bigger than 235's, its called a 4 banger LOL I'd rather be able to make it through the intersections around here before the BMW running the red light hits me, and theres always the whole gas mileage thing too, since mine is a DD, but then again I'm in Va beach, not like I'm climbing around at MOAB anytime soon

It has wheel spacers on it, I think theyre about 2 inches or so. I meant there is no issues I am having. I read in earlier posts that the tire tends to curve, and wear out faster.

The tire won't curve/wear faster in the center unless the tire is overinflated. Exactly what pressure are you running in those tires?

I have stock everything with 31x10.5x15s and I average about 17-18mpg with my 5 speed. That is about 50/50 highway/city. With stock everything I haven't had them rub on anything yet.

My main question is my jeep cam,e with 205's on it, I changed to 235's. Is the tire pressure the same as posted on the sticker? or do I need to play with it and find what works best? Cause I found that 32 works great all teh way around for traction, even wear and everything on BFG ATKO's
