Bikini header

Hello, I've read numerous threads about bikini headers, but I'm still a little confused I got a safari top from the PO, with I guess a no drill header, it clamps into the slots at the top, and the cloth connects to it with snaps. Can I use this with any other bikini? Mine is a bestop, but I was looking at a Smitty. Thanks.

That is a great question as I was wondering the same thing. Are the windshield headers enough alike that they can be interchanged?

A Smittybilt would be a giant step downward in terms of quality & longevity, I'd stay with a better brand like Bestop. All of Smittybilt's products are made in China & having been given a bunch of Chinese made soft top products years ago, I can tell you they all started falling apart within a few years... literally. For example, their straps looked perfect after 2 years but when I went to tug on them to tighten things up, the straps literally crumbled into dust. No exaggeration.

The sad thing is, I bought a Bestop bikini top a few months ago & the first thing I noticed before it was even out of the box was the "Made in China" tag on it

made in China is very subjective on here. Depends on who is buying and what they are buying.
Buy what you can afford now or wait and pay more is what is boils down to.

Aren't all Bestop models made in china? I'm interested in the replace a top sailcloth, but figured I'd have to settle for made in china to do so, which has been a sticking point for me personally.

Not trying to jack the thread but it seemed silly to start a whole thread just to ask that question.

Bestop branded products are made either in Colorado or Mexico. Their entry level/least expensive Pavement Ends line is imported from China.

Damn. When I got my TJ, the PO had a brand new top in the backseat in the box for me. Pavement Ends
