bikini top

i have a hard top and i just took it off for the first time a few days ago and i need something to cover the jeep so i can drive it when it rains (i can't put that heavy hardtop on every time it rains) and was wondering how a bikini top would be...is it easy to install? does it keep ALL the water out when its raining? just wondering if its easy to put up and down and if it will keep the rain out...i cant be out of a ride for a week if it rains for a week straight!
thanks

just received my new sunlighter bikini top today in the mail but can't install it yet cuz it's been raining cats and dogs all day

but it looks to me like it'll keep you dry, but even better would be a safari top for drivin in the rain since that covers the entire top, you def will keep dry with that (and ur stuff in the back too).

...it looks like it wont be too much to install it, but it's not as easy as i'd want it to be, you have to install a channel across the header with screws (depending on your year i think you might have to drill holes for the install) so that you can insert those plastic driprails or whatever they're called underneath.

on my search through the threads i came across this link, it outlines a bikini top install. thanks to whomever did it, i hope it's ok to post it here.

yeah here's a link to quadratec's page outlining different top options, the one i got was the sunlighter bikini, but if you want better protection from the rain then the traditional or safari bikini top might work better...

I've been running around since late April with just a "header" style bikini from BesTop. so far, so good. got caught in a few rain showers and it did nicely... you really can't go wrong with BesTop in my opinion.

Bikini Top

What year do you have?? I just put my bikini top on for the season and it took me about 20 minutes, the bestop header (channel) for 97 and up consists of 2 brackets (4 peices) and 2 bolts its fairly simple, the only advice i would give you is when you do step 1 and insert the plastic strip into the header line it all up then, lay the rest of the top on top of the bar and pull the middle strap tight. after that everything else is downhill from there, i would say for a first time install plan on about 45 min or so, hope this helps
