Had one for a while, but went back to windowless soft top. Decided I like the convertibility.

Don't have the bikini, but the safari from Bestop instead including the duster. I personally like it. Keeps me dry from the storms and cool from the sun. And when I don't want it on, it's a little easier to take off. For me anyways. I had a Pavement Ends flip top that last well over 5 years which was a lot of fun to take the windows off and flip the top back. All in preference though. I would go back to a soft top, but can't afford the heavy price tag with tinted windows.

I recently picked one up off craigslist with a header pretty cheap. Only had it on the couple nice days we've had so far. I like it for the most part. I drive a lot of highway and it is very noisy flapping against the roll bar at those speeds. Around town it is great. I will probably get rid of it and go with the Rampage frameless and just use that as a safari with window options if it storms.

A lot of people are happy with the Bestop Bikini Top. Bestop is known for high quality tops and their bikini top is no exception. Just make sure you get the proper header to go with it! Let me know what questions you have or if you'd like a quote!

Problem with bikini is no near shade
Problem with safari is once in place, it's a hassle to remove.
That's why I run soft top windowless and doorless. Unlatch at windshield, and fold it down on nice days, and put it back up on hot days. No tools required. Just my 2 cents.

That's what I've been thinking. This will be my first summer with the Jeep and have been thinking about different tops, but I feel the existing soft top I have now would fit the purpose with the windows out. I think that's the route I'm going to go.

This is exactly what I do, ive only fully dropped my top a few times. I just take off doors and windows. That way its nice and airy but with lots of shade. Perfect.

It takes me less than 3 minutes to undo my safari top by myself. Whereas with the soft top you have to make sure the bows are correctly secured and if they snag then its going to take a little bit longer to undo.

A Spiderwebshade might be an option? Pretty cheap to buy and it stays in place when you put the roof up.

X2

I have a tan Spiderwebshade and it is fan-freakin-tastic. Trips to the beach are very enjoyable now and nobody turns into a sun dried tomato. I can fold my softtop over the sws and still have ample headroom. It is also very good on the highway and stays in place. Plus it is made in the U.S.A.

X3 for the Spider Web Shade. I tried the regular and safari bikini tops, hated them both. Big hassle to put on, had to bolt and unbolt the header, tops themselves were a PITA to get on the header. Very frustrating. I got the spider web shade that goes to the rear of the sound bar, love it.

Attaches with little bungee cords, stays on when you put your top up, provides shade but is still see through since it's a net. No rain protection, but since the top goes over it without removal, that's not a big deal.

Try it. I have nothing to do with them but I think it's one of the best and least expensive upgrades you can find for a Jeep.

There are a couple of videos on their website that explain it best.

By this, do you mean a soft top where you have removed the windows, or is there a soft top that is made without windows?

I have always ran with the hard top on.
I am still a newb when it comes to soft tops.

Recent the same process you did looking at different types of tops and determined that a spiderweb shade and SoftTop would be a good option for me. So far so good!

x2 on the windowless soft top. Plus, thats a $100+ dollars on a safari top and header channel that I can put towards my lift budget
