Bikini top header

A friend of mine gave me an original equip "jeep" sun bonnet. But has no header. Qtech offers one for it but says its a bolt on or screw on. My ? is once the header is on, can i put my top up without taking it off? I cant find any info on it. I have a header for an after market bikini, but no bikini. Id prefer not to drill holes, but on the other hand would be nice to just slide bikini off to put up the top if thats the case. Anyone have any knowledge or opinions they'd like to share.

What I've learned about bikini and sun bonnet tops, and respective windshield channels.
There are two main types of windshield headers. drill and non-drill.

Drill:
requires you to drill holes in the top of your windshield channel, mates to a top with a round connector which will slide in from the side. these channels do not need to be removed when putting up the soft top, but do get in the way of the hard top clamps. You can however cut or grind the portions off that interfere with the hard top clamps and call it a day.

non drill:
there are a couple types of the non drill, quick release, and clamp. These headers connect to the top with a flat connector that attaches from the front. these headers cannot be used in conjunction with a soft or hard top but are generally easy to remove.

tops are not interchangeable with channels

Thank you. Now i just have to decide which way to go, either buy a new bikini top or get the channel that fits my sun bonnet. I do have a hard top and soft top. Again thanks.

Kimball2, the drill header does not mount on top of the windshield frame, it mounts on the inside surface, the same surface the footman loop is screwed to.

Caution that the drill style header will not mount on 2003 and newer windshield frames without modifications. Personally, I prefer the drill-style header so much that when I acquired my '04 TJ, I modified things so it could be used. Normally, the no-drill style header is required on 2003 and newer TJs but it is a PITA to use.
