alot of people just paint them. alot cheaper than paying the $30(i think they're that much?) to buy the black ones.

Absolutely. And it doesn't flake off like paint.

I scuffed mine with steel wool then used Rustoleum Applience laquer. Nice hard coating...cost was 5 bucks.

I paint all kinds of stuff with Rustoleum Hammered Paint. Thick and tough. My bezels are painted with it and haven't chipped or flaked yet.

The wheels on my boy's Ram Charger were painted with it and have been ROYALLY abused and aren't flaking even in the places where they scratched through to the metal.

I like to play with that Hammered paint, too. I painted my roll bar with it when I replaced my smashed one. It looked awesome. Like it was cast forged. I hated to cover it up with the pads...

X2. Mine have chipped a bit, but no flaking. I like the hammered paint because you can touch it up and you can't tell.
I sanded my bezels with 400 grit, them primed with Rust Oleum "Professional Primer" before spraying them with the hammered paint. Did my rock sliders the same way.

Yup, painted mine with krylon fusion paint. Mine were actually chrome plated plastic, no metal. Worked well, no chips.
