black steelies vs. saltwater

i do alot saltwater fishing and mainly off my boat. so needless to say that my wrangler will be getting dunked in the saltwater.
i'm pretty good with rinsing off the salt water once i get home. i'm just wondering if anyone has gone thru this in the past. common sense says that salt and steel spells disaster. but in the years past i've used my old truck too launch the boat and that had factory steel wheel on it from 1986. i painted them once before approx 4 yrs ago, but not because of rust but just to clean them up a lil. i know that the black steelies are fairly cheap. but i would rather not be replacing them every other year. i was really leaning towards the steelies w/the simmulated bead lock which looks like that would corrode in no time.
any suggestions.....

Hose 'em off and spray them down with WD-40 after each trip. Treat them just like you do your boat trailer wheels. I have a white version of the wheels that are on the Jeep on the boat trailer. Never had a problem.

I was in getting wife's tires changed when I heard the salesman warn a guy about get chrome wheel. I asked him about steel wheels since that is what I'm planning to buy this month. He said he had not seen in issue with the steel wheels, only the chrome ones. As you know you have to always rinse off the salt water.

Hell, the rain is even salty here during the summer. Everything here rust just from being outside. Keep them clean and touch up scratches.

Just get some inexpensive aluminum wheels like from American Eagle or American Racing. No matter how well you think you've hosed the salt off those steel wheels, there's enough left to corrode the heck out of them. Aluminum will start to look bad after repeated exposure to salt but they won't fail or become structually unsound like steel wheels will.

Rhino Line your steelies before you put them on. That would probably look pretty cool too.
