blitz gas can mount

thinkin about mountin one of these with a blitz gas can on my tailgate sense i dont have a spare tire. what do yall think???

I'm not a huge fan of going either-or for gas versus spare tire. Both are useful. Arguably, in most instance, the spare comes in handy more than the gas does.

That said, if you insist on carrying gas in lieu of a spare tire, I'd rather see something a bit more secure instead of relying on a strap, especially if you're going to be running this thing on the road.

I carried spare jerry cans behind my previous TJ's tail gate but only behind a robust heavy-duty spare tire carrier that protected the jerry cans from all but a major rear-ender. I wouldn't want a naked jerry can back there all by itself and exposed to being smashed and spraying gasoline everywhere in even a minor impact.
