Blown Dash Speaker

My driver side dash speaker is blown in my 99 TJ. Would it hurt anything to just disconnect the speaker and not have a speaker at all there?

No it won't hurt anything, but replacing them is easy. Pick up some adapters and put in 5.25's and it'll sound tons better...

I would at least turn your radio's balance control all the way to the right so no power is sent to the missing driver's side speaker. The missing speaker may not cause any problem but some amplifiers/transmitters don't like operating with a missing speaker or antenna which can sometimes cause a failure.

I'm new to jeeps, and working on vehicles in general. I think I may have a blown speaker also. Whats the adapter you talking about? Is it something for all Speakers or just jeeps? Sorry for a dumb ??

Any audio shop sells the adaptor kit to put 5.25 in TJ's. Like everyone says better sounds and louder. And if you leave on unplugged no harm done.

never !!!! spend the money infinity/memphis/rockford fosgate/pioneer!!! u get what u pay for on speakers !!! dont get me wrong sony has some good products but not in the mobile electronics world. I have three 12" pioneers in my car with only 2-6.5" memphis door speakers I thought my subs would over power them and I wouldnt be able to hear the words of the songs needless to say they are fantastic when I purchase my wrangler in a couple of weeks Im goin to replace all the stock speakers the memphis speakers i got are $90 a pair not to bad for the quality!!
