Body and rust

Here's my story. 3 years ago, my grampa and i cut out all the body rust and put new sheet metal inplace. We then painted it and did some work inside on the foot-board. After this winter, the rust is back. Passenger fender is horrid, and the side panels are becoming a problem. Last summer i was hit by a drunk driver (just scrapped), and the $2500 insurance money went to buy my mustang. So my question is, what would be an estimate on price for atleast one fender (could use both pass and driver), and both side panels? Keep in mind i'm looking for used at junkyards and online, i cant afford new. The driver panel needs replaced from wreck and rust, but passenger panel could be cut out and filled with sheet metal. One last thing, since we get rough winters and the salt is bad, once i get new fenders, could i coat the inside/bottom of fenders with bedliner to help stop rusting? Anyway, heres some pics of rust. Any input would be great

Drivder side panel with rust bubbling up

Small spot on driver fender

Cracked fender/side panel from drunk driver

Here you can tell how bad its indented (not too worried about fender flares)

You can get some fenders off ebay for about $120 shipped. Not sure on the fit but fairly reasonable price.

The fit on those eBay fenders was terrific. I bought two already painted for my 97. Not a bad job at all taking the old off and bolting on the new. The rust you have is identical to why I replaced mine. I bought the Jeep from a lot in Grand Rapids Mich where it had spent it's life bathed in salt. The eBay fenders do not come painted on the inside so some type of under coating would be excellent.

The side kinda looks like surface rust to me. Is it only on the outside? If so grind and sand it all off, reprime and repaint and you will be good. As far as the hinges are concerned I removed the doors, hit it with the sander and the wire brush and did the same prime and paint routine. Mine is a 97 so the paint did not match prefectly, but it was real close. I used a rattle can on the hinges.

I too have horrible fenders just like yours and I'm going to get Ebay fenders. I recommend coating it with POR15 before painting though as that should prevent rust from forming in the future. It seems like every time I turn around there's more rust on my Jeep.

When's the last time you checked your frame? Don't just look but poke around near trans. cross member and rear spring mounts!
