Body Lift Help

Ok, So I got about halfway through my body lift last night before I ran outta energy. One thing that kept giving me trouble was the bac Pucks, I jacked the tub up and the back wheel came off the ground, yet there was still not enough room to slide the puck in. I immediately lowered it and tried the other side and it seemed to do the same thing. It acted like it was still attached to the frame somewhere. Other than loosening all the body mount bolts, is there a step I missed that would cause this? If not, Where did you place the jack when installing the back pucks? I also have the very front one left too, is there any special technique involved in that one?

have you already cranked down all the pucks you've replaced or are they still loose? Also make sure to check your shocks. When I was doing my BL I forgot to unbolt my shocks and the rear end did about what you are describing. As far as the front puck... I just used a BFH when I was doing the other front mounts to get it in.

Haha, no I hadnt cranked them down yet. Shocks are definitely still bolted up, I didnt read to do that anywhere and it never even crossed my mind to unbolt them. Is the front that big of a pain in the ass? Where did you put your jack for the front one?

Let me know, or send pics when ur done. I have the same set up, but w/ 33x12.5's, and am putting off the BL cause it seems like it might not be worth the aggrivation. I have it in the box and have sized it up a few times. The BB was much easier! I bought mine through RE, other than one snappped bolt it was a sinch.- 1 guy (me) and about 3-4 hours, oh yeah and about 18 beers. Something to look forward too when u figure out that BL BS

I never moved my jack. I unbolted the mounts on one side, loosened the others then placed the jack with a 2x4 under the tub in the middle of the vehicle and jacked it up. I didn't have to undo my shocks or anything and didn't have any problems with them fitting.

That's pretty much what I did as far as getting each side up for the pucks. The directions said to undo my shocks though and it seemed to work fine. Now that you mention it I'm not sure why it had me undo the shocks....hmmm... anywho! It seemed to work well! Also watch your TC lowering brackets and your Radiator lowering bracket. Unfortunately there was nothing to discern between the two and that being my first BL I got them mixed up. Oddly enough with a little modificaiton they will work switched for about 6 months! Then all your bushings give out!

you don't have to undo the shocks!

i didn't remove mine. i just unbolted the bolts on one side and jacked up that side and slid them in and then did the other side the same way.

a BL won't affect the shocks. if you jack the tub up the shocks don't go with it. thats why you don't need longer shocks with the BL.

............ Ok........... UPDATE: IM AN IDIOT.... I unbolted the body mounts underneath the tub, but did have one of them near as far as I thought I did. I took those bolts all the way out and everything was a snap after that..... One more quick question though,

Can anyone snap a picture of how the bracket to lower the 4x4 shift linkage goes one?? Those directions didnt help much and I was too eager to get it back on the road so I decided to finish that part another day (shouldnt harm it, just cant get it into 4Lo)
