Body lift instructions

I have a 96 TJ and want to install a body lift. Are there any sets of instructions around that I can easily follow ?

Ummmmmm......you might have a slight problem finding a body lift for a 96 TJ. 97 was the first of the TJ's, YJ's ended in 95. No Wranglers made in 96.

So if you have a 97 TJ, body lift is fairly straightforward. Most manufactures will have the directions available for download, try Performance Accessories.

Body lifts are pretty straight forward, if you buy a body lift it will come with instructions. My suggestion for the two front pieces is fishing line and windex. They slide right in.

How much does it cost to go from stock to a reasonable life with nice big tires? On average? Ballpark?

2" BB with good shocks (notice i said GOOD shocks)-$300
1" BL - $100
32" tires- $700 including mount and balance
wheels $400

tires can be found for less and if you steelies you can certainly find them for less than $400

so thats $1500 total...not too bad to go from stock to a nice setup.

Any particula brand?

Because I'm also in the market for a 2"BB and for what I saw for the price I'm inclined to 2" Rubicon Express.

Thanks.

you could get the RE one for $220 or $230

or you could get 2 pairs of 2" spacers for $70 and pick your own shocks...i have heard that the twin tube shocks (that come with the RE lift) suck.

Thats good to know, im looking at lifted Jeeps to buy but if the price is right I might go with a stock one and lift it myself.

it will be a good learning experience to lift it yourself. and if you just get a BB your not spending much money on the lift
