I put 3" BDS springs and Rancho rs9000xl shocks on my lj a couple months ago, it rode great. I was very happy with it. Last week I put a Daystar 1" body lift on it and it rides like a wagon now. I have used energy suspension poly bushings elsewhere before and they had a little give to them. This is my first time to use a daystar product. The daystar poly bushings are hard as a rock. Do all body lifts cause a very rough ride?
Having a hard time visualizing how a 1" body lift can mechanically cause a rough ride. All body lifts are solid pieces of poly or aluminum. Did you leave in the stock rubber isolators?
I installed a Daystar 1" bl a couple of years ago, after a recommendation by someone on the forum and was very disappointed with the overall quality and noticed a little harsher ride also. I wasn't impressed. The stock isolators are much better, and if I had it to do over would use the stock body mounts and spacers.
The ride itself doesn't change but you can sure feel additional vibrations in the passenger compartment if you replace the factory rubber body mounts with polyurethane. The only body lifts I like are those that sit on the OE rubber mounts, like those from Performance Accessories like is in the photo in post #3 above.
I wonder if I could get some new rubber isolators and cut the poly ones down to 1" for spacers.
