Body Questions

Hello,
I just bought my 2005 Jeep Wrangler X about 2 months ago. You all have helped me on some other stuff and I had a couple more questions.

My passenger door rubs against my hardtop right below the curve at the top left. This has caused a mark on my hard top as well as my door. I believe that the hard top is seated correctly. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, my hood does not line up. I have attached some pictures on this because it is hard to explain. There is extra space on the right side of the hood. On the right side it rubs against the body. The rubber pieces that hold the hood on will now allow it to move to the right.

Thank you all!

with the hood you can just re-align it by loosening the hinge bolts and move it so its centered.

Maybe it was in a wreck before you bought it? Realigning either is a simple thing but I question why they're both off like that.

Yes, I think it may have been in a small wreck, but there is nothing really that I can do about it now. I just hope I can get them both fixed.

Both should be easily adjustable so they fit right. I'd adjust both in my garage without hesitation. On the door, if you decide to try to adjust it yourself, only loosen the six torx-bolts on the door side of the hinge, not on the tub side of the hinge. Then once loose, you can use a plastic tool or screwdriver tip wrapped in tape to gently position the left side of the door down a tad. Just look at the gap between the door and tub to get things even. Leave the door closed and latched while doing this which will make the job considerably easier. Be careful with the torx-head hinge bolts though, the torx-head is known to strip out easily if you're not careful.

If you'd do some good trails and beat on some rocks a little, it'd probably straighten that stuff up enough that you wouldn't worry about it.
