Brake lights stuck on when headlights are switched on

hello
i am having a problem with my brakelights , when i switch my headlights on my brakelights come on automatically , i disconected the brake light switch but they still stay on, but when the headlights are switched off the brakelights stay off as normal but when you press the brake pedal all the brakelights illuminate and also the license plate lights illuminates .

what could this be?

Is this a new vehicle to you? Have you done any bulb replacement or wiring lately? Sounds like you may have single filament lamps in the tail lights and the center contact is touching both socket contacts back feeding everything. especially when you disconnected the brake light switch and the brake lights stayed on. Would take the tail light lenses off remove the bulbs and with a test light see what is going on. Do you know how to use a voltmeter or a test light? Do you understand the procedure of testing tail/turn and stop lights?

I found the fault today . all the bulbs were correct. one of the filaments had melted and started touching the other filament in the bulb which was causing it to short circuit , so i had just replaced it and it was all ok.

thanks for your help anyway
