brakes

after the jeep sits overnight, and i first get in and start to drive, the brakes lock up when i first touch the pedal, even with the lightest application. i believe its mainly the back brakes. My driveway is slightly downhill at the end before it meets the street, and in the morning my tire squeal is obnoxious. after this initial issue, the brakes are always fine.
this past winter i fixed much in the front end. new wheel bearings, brakes pads, rotors, axles seals, etc. Everything out front looks great.
what i have not ever fixed was the rear brakes. it has 173k and i've had the jeep for about a year now. I hadn't previously thought to look at the rear brakes only because the brakes pedal is so firm and it generally stops great. also, i have never really done drum brakes before.

soo.....what would cause this tire lock up with the brakes after the jeep sits.

Mine does the same thing in the rear after any kind of rain or moisture. Not exactly sure why, but it always goes away after the first stop.
