Brakes lock up with little pressure

Hi all,

Today when I was driving from work I got off of the highway and when stopping at a redlight my brakes locked up with very little pressure, chirping momentarily until I let off. As I more carefully slowed to a stop I felt like my brakes were super sensitive. I finished my drive to work much more carefully without touching the brakes much.

Then on my way home the brakes were doing the same exact thing again, from the moment I started driving until I stopped on my street.

I googled and searched for the problem, and the symptoms seem like what I am reading here about sensitive brakes when its wet. Well it has been raining here A LOT with lots of deep puddles so that explains the cause. But why are my brakes not letting off when they dry up? I would think that a 20 min commute with periodic brake usage should be enough to dry the things out and bring them back to normal.

Any idea what could be going on here? This is unsafe at best. Last thing I want is for my brakes to lock up on the highway.

Thanks.

I had similar problem when my f/l rubber brake line collapsed inside. Can you tell if only one brake is grabbing? Is only one brake getting hot or staying hot?

As far as I know it doesn't feel like it is only one wheel locking up. Once I go to work this morning I gave the Jeep a walk around and looked at closely as I could at each wheel. I could feel mild heat from both fronts and neither smelled or seemed like it was being over worked. The rears are drums and I don't know what to look for in them, except that they looked normal.

Mine does this when it's humid or wet out. Usually clears up after stopping a few times for me. I blamed it on surface rust build up in the drum and rotors.

I have stock wheels and basic tires. Tire pressure should be 33lbs but during my walk-around they looked like they could be a bit low, so maybe 29-31lbs? Nothing over pressure or super low.

Yeah, I thought about that after reading other peoples problems, but mine don't seem to dry out at all after highway driving/braking during my commute.
