Brighten taillights..

How can I brighten my taillights? At night mine are barley visible. I blacked them out to dark and I don't have my 3rd brake light (

blacking them out was your mistake. replace the lenses so they're properly visible. in fact, in most states it's illegal to drive at night with blacked out lenses. think about it - if you can't see to back up, nobody's going to be able to see you on the road.

You can pick the lenses up at any truck stop. Pretty sure Napa sells them also.

WTF? I must have missed something.

Last I checked, there is no color option for tail lights.

Well you have been given the solution to the problem you have caused yourself, you don't like it so accept it and move on. Oh and when someone plows into at speed because they didn't see your brake lights, make sure you tell them that they looked cool!

One of the more unbelievable replies I've ever seen. Style over function... no matter what, right? WTF do you think we have bright red tail and stop lights?

I installed the flush mount 4" LED lights on my TJ and was able to find them with a black background. The lights themselves are brighter than stock but when unlit, the light is black.

Plus your giving the police a reason to stop and harass you since they are now not D.O.T. legal.

That's pretty vain. I can't believe that you'd rather have a blacked out vehicle then be safe and possibly risk injuring yourself and someone else.

What would happen if there was a serious rain storm, and visibility was down to just seen lights on vehicles. Someone doesn't see yours, plows into you and dies. How would you forgive yourself? All because you wanted a blacked out vehicle.

Lmbo . Just get some of that reflective tape that they put down the sides of dump trucks and tractor trailers. Y'all are being very tough on this guy. However I do find it amusing that I subscribed to this thread though. Look man, just go buy you some new lenses. You can swap them out in like 2 mins..
