If u do break them u can just fit a air chisel in to break the welded nut out with only removing the inner wheel well liner then put a nut and bolt in worked for me with no body lift
had this happen a few times, as its just too common with the stock bolts and the rust belt.
used a dremel and lived in fear for 30 min the first time....something about throwing sparks at a nylon gas tank
second time and every time since, lifted the body some by loosening the body mount bolts, lifting it a few inches, then air hammer with a punch from underneath and chisel from the side. less than 2 min per broken bolt. replace with the largest hardware that will fit the shocks
I used a dremel as well, draped a chamois over the gas tank best I could. Had a fire extinguisher just in case and kept rpm's on the dremel as low as possible to minimize throwing sparks.
I put the bolt and nut on the top, that way it helps keep it out of the elements. I didn't use Loctite. I used locking washers and coated everything in ant seize.
Mine were in horrible shape too. So I gently removed the body mount bolts after PB blasting them (still managed to snap one)… Then jacked the body tub off the frame about 4-5 inches, and chiseled the welded nut off. Not pleasant work, but I was by myself and it was a lot easier than working upside down with a torch, Dremel, etc.
