bubbles in tranny oil

I just replaced the auto tranny oil and filter on my 1999 wrangler 4.0. When the jeep is off there are no signs of bubbles on the dipstick. When it's idling there are bubbles.

I couldn't find my vent hose from the tranny
So far I just put in 4qts of ATF+4 to check the level (I may need to add two more qts as well)...the level seems okay since I didn't flush the system as there may be left over in the TC (again I could be wrong here)

I do have this bending metal here...check my pictures below...

and another angle...

That bent plate is no big deal, it's just a protective cover. But based on the bent-up plate, it would be a good idea to install some sort of an engine skid that would protect more of that area. When checking the ATF fluid level, was the transmission fully warmed up and the shifter in Neutral after you shifted through all the gears first? Your 32RH transmission does not have a vent hose, its vent is on the front of the transmission just above its input shaft. You can't see it while it's bolted to the engine.

It wasn't fully warmed up. I will drive to NAPA and get more ATF+4 and get back to you...

Thanks for the quick reply.

Eh it's okay. Bubbles went away as it warmed up.

Just make sure you do not overfill the tranny with fluid, if you do the fluid will get really bubbly and foam. This can destroy your tranny if it goes on too long.
