building a tire carrier

so my current warn tire carrier is completely screwed up. when i took my jeep to get inspected they took a torch to the hinge and the metal itself is falling apart. so i decided to try and fab one myself only question is what do i to about the hinge and the locking mechanism. what did everyone use for their home bolt ones

Your best bet is to contact Gary D......PIVOT KING...THE SQUARE TUBE PIVOT AXLE he is part of our Reno4x4 group and is a great guy....

I built my own pivot... but should have gone this route and saved a TON of work....

Next thing is your latch and lock..... I did a spring lock pin called a POP PIN to hold the swing-away in place when open.

The latch... DESTACO 344 perpendicular toggle clamp. Good for 2000 lbs
