Bumpers/Side Steps from an '04 - Will they fit a '97?

Hey guys,

Can you confirm that stock bumpers and side steps taken from a '04 will fit a '97? I found some on Craigslist, but before I buy them, I just want to be sure.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they bolt into the same preset holes in the frame.

Most 97 to 06 TJ parts fit. Except in some cases an Unlimited as stated above.

I bought the side steps, but they don't fit. It look like the brackets that connect them are different. The steps look like they would fit (other than the brackets). What am I missing?

They changed the hole pattern, I think 97-2001 has like 4 holes and 3 holes and later is 2 holes and 2 holes if I remember corectly.

Plus remember, some long arm set ups like RE have their belly skids cover up some of the mounting holes so you would need to fabricate a new mount if you have a similar set up.

Idk, and I don't know where Fishers is, but if you feel like traveling south, I'll sell you mine cheap and since they're from an '01 they should fit fine, and they're freshly painted....

any other thoughts about the possibility of finding different brackets that could connect '04 steps to a '97?

Junkyard? DaveysJeeps, Craigslist.... Idk... But it'll probably be just about as cheap to sell the ones you have and get the right ones...

Check your PM's but I might.... It shouldn't be that much to ship them, it's not like they're heavy really... In fact, my kid is heading to Indy next week... Hmmmm
