Buying a '97 Sahara

Hi I'm new to the forum and hopefully to be a Jeep owner soon. I'm looking at a 1997 Sahara tomorrow (4.0 Automatic) And I'm wondering if there is anything I should be looking at in particular. i surfed some of the other post and came up with the normal stuff, leaks , seals weaping, rust in the floors, bushings, etc. The only other Jeep experience is my buddys 1983 CJ (body cancer and "a billion" miles but it still runs like a champ. Any insight would be appreciated. Thenks!

Make sure you test drive and get it up to speed, to see about death wobble. i actually bought a 1997 sahara 3 months ago as my first jeep. dont get in a hurry. there are a tone of jeeps out there and the right one will come around. it took me 8 months and i looked at 8 jeeps before i found one i was completely happy with

There are definitely tons of Jeep especially in NJ and PA if thats near you. also look for a D44 rear axle, has a metal plug.

Make sure to shift it in and out of 4WD. Because if the t-case doesn't work, its just another Chrysler product.

Be sure to take your time looking at it. I was lucky enough to find a 97 with 52k miles that didn't appear to have ever been used offroad much. Check underneath the vehicle for any type of damage. Get it up to 50-60mph see if the Jeep shakes, handles properly ect... Like a guy said the post above. There are a ton of Jeeps for sale so if you have any doubts about this Jeep for any reason,, move onto the next one...
