Cab Covers

Anyone tried those cab covers that are in Quadratec? I am looking for an option to help keep the elements and such at bay when I leave my jeep setting in the woods while hiking for the day.

I have the bestop trail cover. It is waterproof. Watch out for the ones that say water resistant. I carry mine around in the bag and it takes up very little space. When a shower comes up you just throw it on and don't worry about it. I think I paid about $130 for mine.

^^x2 ^^ What he said! I have the same one, it's great! I use mine in my driveway sometimes, occasionally for a few days at a time if I don't feel like putting the top & doors back on or clearing out the space to put her in the garage. I have had to rig up a prop to keep large quantities of water from pooling in the top during a big storm, but none leaked thru!

I agree with Dare as well. I have one of the others in the catalog and found out the difference between waterproof and resistant the hard way. Took two weeks to dry out the interior. The Bestop cover is on my short list.

I have been doing more research and it looks like the one from Bestop is the winner. Thanks for the feedback!

Nothin wrong with that. I eat my fair share as well. It's just hardly worth going to the river to fish when you limit out in 30 minutes. Gots to let all but the really good ones go.

Where do you fish?

I've been running this for about 3 years now.

http://www.jeepcovers.com/

I'm not sure if Bestop's cover handles the opening with the doors off, but I know it didn't previously. I've had this one on with no safari underneath and if it rains good, can bow enough to handle about 8" of water (I always strapped it down after that!) without leaking.

I know where that location is.....have you tried the Big Creek area? Had lots of luck and a lot of fun fishing the big pools there.

The bestop cover for my YJ covers the doors all the way down. Check out the link. They make one just like it for the TJ.

Tuggin? Nope. Just throw it on and loop the fasteners around the windshield brackets, tail-lights, spare tire and steps.

maybe others have had a different experience with their trail covers but i find that mine are kind of a snug fit. probably made this way on purpose, but i find i have to reeeeaaaaalllyyy have to tug on the sides that cover the door panel to get them to hook underneath the body. fortunately the actual trail cover is stretchy and i usually just end up letting them hang free and they still do the job. and the only way i can use all the fasteners in the rear is when i have my soft top not only down but completely off the jeep. otherwise all the fabric folded down in the back makes it too bulky. i usually just hook the middle loop behind the spare tire and it holds it well enough.

Yes, the Rain Gear Jeep cover works both with and w/o the doors. I usually run it all summer when I have my safari and duster on. It will NOT fit with the soft top UP, but it will fit - snugly - when the top is down.
