Camo Wrap

Im thinking about wrapping my TJ in Camo? Has anyone delt with wraps? How hard is it? Can i do it by myself or will i need some extra hands?

Any recomendations for wrap brands or styles?

its a pain in the butt to do it nice. have a guy at work that does our fleet vehicles. i said to him one day that it doesnt look that hard. after i messed it up i give him alot of credit. you must have alot of patience to do it.

Wraps are cool...not exactly user friendly to do...so you may want to have it done professionally. Ideally they should be done in about the same type environment as paint - super clean, dust free. I think you'd have no problems going around the flat surfaces....it's curved surfaces that can get a bit tricky...and harder to get the wrap to lay down flat. Luckily we do have alot of flat surface on our jeeps at least...

Are you afraid the big bad deer is going to see you?

my personal experience is that they hear you first anyway.

I would definitely not recommend doing it...will devalue the vehicle a bunch.

Use to install wraps and with out having the pooper tools and know how it can be a pain. I would suggest going to a pro cause if you buy the wrap and mess up on the installation (which I am I believe will be your first wrap) Yor going to have to buy a replacement section to redo it and that could be a installation cost.

Nah I just think it would look really awesome. I have seen a truck wrapped and an old cj 7 wrapped and the both looked great

It is expensive, fades and tears easily. Having said that, I think camo would look cool.

How do you figure that? Sure it will make his wallet significantly lighter but the wrap can be removed at any time.

I've never done a jeep or large vehicle, but my first and only attempt so far was on my R6 (used to be your everyday run of the mill blue R6). I think It turned out OK at best but I'm also critical of my own work, but everywhere I go I'm always complimented on it and get asked where I had it done and how many hundreds it cost me to have professionally done.

My recommendations is to order extra and practice on smaller stuff with intricate curves and lines first, get used to using a heat gun and stretching it. I learned A LOT my the time I was done. Watch YouTube and get yourself a good heat gun.

I wrapped the rocker panels on my truck a while back. It was a pain in the butt, but the finished product looked cool. It lasted 4 years until I sold it, but there was a little fading and peeling. Definitely set aside a weekend to do a jeep. Those rocker panels took me over 6 hours

I called around last year, to get prices. To have someone wrap a TJ in camo, it was about $1500 avg. There are sites that you can buy a DIY kit already packaged for a TJ, for about $550.

I got my wrap from gander mountain... it was like 400 for the wrap and I think 300 for someone to put it on, and I would recommend putting a clear coat on it... I can send pics of yawl want, can't put pictures on here anymore... sucks.

I wanna Camo Wrap too

If I can find a place that will do a good job for a fair price I'd be in as well. These are NOT my jeeps, but what I found on-line and like.
