Camshaft Synchronizer Stuck, Please Help!

I have purchased the Dorman 689-200 replacement part for my 2004 TJ Sport. I successfully removed the old sensor and shaft. In trying to get the new part to fit, it seemed to be poorly manfactured to exact spec because it was a tight fit. With a little sanding I was able to get it to fit properly into place but I put it in without caring about the alignment just to chekc that it fit and now I cant get it out for the life of me. It twists a little and will pull out about 1/4"" but then will not budge further. I have tried tapping, hammering, yanking, and prying all carefully of course, but cannot budge the thing. I need to remove it so that I can properly align it to the old one position. Has anyone experienced this same problem when replacing their CMP? DOes anyone have any suggestions. I began this project thinking that it would be a simple 20 minute job and need this up and running tomorrow as it is my DD. Thanks for any adice.
