yeah about those bump stops

this is the next thing i'm learning about, are they supposed to be staight up and down, cuz they are not. it has a 6 inch short arm kit and 37" x15 x12.5 pre kevlar wranglers never goes off road (it's my pick customer car up vehicle) and gets about 20 miles a week, the tires do not rub.
what would you put on?
i just know they stop overcompression but i can't see that happening, is this dangerous the way i have it cuz it drives great other than the noise from the pins.

6" short arm with 37s with stock brakes is dangerous in itself....

the whole thing sounds like a mess....drop pitman arm? drop track bar bracket? what's caster at?

Yeah.....that thing was carelessly thrown together with cheap junk. Just weld the 3 piece links (worst design ever, BTW) together so they're one piece or just get some one piece links.

it has a ford 8.8 rear with discs, the jeep stops perfectly, it doesn't pull or wobble even at highway speeds, the 4x4 shop i brought it 2 asking about the pitman arm said it's fine and i may cause trouble putting a drop as it lines up almost perfectly and has no problems. he said it was put together pretty good but would'nt go crazy rock climbing. i had a wobble when i toed it in but when i rechecked it was to much. now it rides perfect again @ 1/16 toe in.
but thanks for all your swell responses!

as they say, ignorance is bliss.

quick question - what's your definition of "put together pretty good"?

Post some more pictures of the steering and suspension. Lets see what we're dealing with.

Just because they "specialize in Jeeps" doesn't mean they know the technical differences between right and wrong. You're heavily relying on what is quite likely poor information.

And what do you need anyone to look at it for? Your original question is over an exceptionally simple task.

well i feel better

well i went 2 a local alignment shop whose owner has bought from me and asked him for a complete check of my entire undercarriage, i traded him a gift certificate for a remote starter so he had no vested interest in bullshitting me.
he found 1 thing wrong with my rig... the steering box needed a quarter turn, thats it. i literally just left at 11:30 pm ( he closes at 6pm) i had the front end checked with lasers and needed nothing. everything that was installed he said looked new(it's been on for 8000 miles...oh i had a blown out boot the one where the pitman arm connects to the drag link, he said that was not unprofessionally done and thinks i did it by over greasing, cuz i do...or did.
i went with him on a test drive @ 70 mph and he said my rig should not drive like that with 37" tires....granted he is not a 4x4 specialist but he said for a lifted 2000 jeep he felt safer than in a newer f250 that a guy spent $1000's on that is a beauty to look at but he thinks is dangerous ( that vehicle was going for it's second day of work)...he also scolded me for not getting the ebrake hooked up on the ford 8.8
why would i get chastised about the junk that was thrown together when i had a simple question....cripes i'm just learnin.
i checked you 2's past responses 2 people and it seems like your dicks to everyone.
thanks for ruining the first part of my day cuz ya did....now all better
haters hate!
by the way i paid $7000 for this and sanded and polished every inch by hand
and had nothing but fun with me big blue beast.
and now i have 2 professionals tell me it's rock solid....and looks kool

Look it is your Jeep and you are welcome to do with it what you like, right? I say if it feels safe and rides great for what you use it then enjoy the crap out of it. We don't all use our vehicles for the same purpose.

It does look very nice btw

I think people automatically assume when someone comes on here with a jeep that was lifted before they acqured it, and starts asking questions to learn aobut the jeep, that the jeep was not done correctly and is a pile of crap.

If the suspension and steering is tight, has good alignment angles, and the components are good quality, then it is a decent build. You plan to keep it on the street, so there is no need to get in too deep if your happy with it.
