The 2001 with the hare top is not a X. It is a sport with a d44 rear.
See that 60 anniversary on the jeep.
I go with the 2001 hard top.
I have the same jeep but in gray.

How do you know it has a Dana 44? I don't see anything about it that indicates what rear axle it has.

X2.

Not all X or Sport packages came with a D44.

Check if you are going to build and wheel in the future. It'll matter.

Saharas were often found with D44s, but that interior is awful. I'd also consider the gearing. If you get one with 3.07s, you will be hating life for a long time. Get 3.73s.

Personally, I wouldn't buy either of those. I don't see P, D, N, or R anywhere on the console.

Tough call - if money wasn't an issue, I'd go w/ the lower mileage softtop.

I've actually been looking at that black 2001, it's been listed at least since February. I bought my fiancee a jeep in March, and I noticed that one listed when I started looking.

I haven't found anything to prove that. The only models I know of that would GUARANTEE a D44 rear would be a Rubicon or a Rocky Mountain Edition.

The 60th Anniversary option was only like $600... and I don't think that warrants the ONLY 2 specialty colors available for that package and a D44 rear. As far as I know, it's an expensive Sahara.
