car radio problems

i have a 2003 jeep wrangler and I have problems with my radio. It seems to go out on me while I'm driving I have jingled the wires and it works for about a minute. The radio works but the stations go out I get a shooshing noise can someone tell me what i should do to fix this. The radio is working but i cant get the stations only the shooshing noise. please help me thanks

Pull the radio and check for loose antenna plug.

Is it a stock stereo or aftermarket?
The antenna wire is stretched pretty tight in the dash, and can come loose. Many aftermarket stereos need an extension on the antenna cable just to reach.
