Does anyone regret removing the carpet? I'm talking myself into raptor lining the floor and tub and ditching the carpet. I'm running doorless with a safari top whenever it's not snowing so road noise etc is a non issue.
I take out my carpet and pull the drain plugs every summer, and then put it all back in each winter. If it's warm out then I know I'll be wheeling, and no carpet makes clean up nice and easy.
No carpet and rhino lined. Hated it, put front carpet back in along with thermal shielding. No mudding, some beach driving on obx, the floorboard heat radiating from underneath was miserable to my bare feet.
How EASY is it to remove the carpet - say to get ready for an overlanding/touring trip through a portion of the US, and then put them back in when back home for mall crawling /DD'ing.? I have mud mats over the carpet now . . . but I'd like to remove the carpet when we head out on a month 'cruise'.
I don't know about the JKs but the TJs are easy. There's a snap under the front seat and it pulls out pretty easily. You may get better answers in the JK section, though.
Just redid my interior with new carpet... its easy to pull out but a beeech! to put in!!
