Have mine mounted in a tuffy overhead security console. Works great. Also have the behind the brake light antenna mount. Had problems with swr until I added the antenna behind the brake light.

Mine is mounted on a custom built mount, bolted across the roll cage above the windscreen (windshield to my American cousins).

I also have the behind brake light mount.

Bracket held with two large hose clamps. Ran a separate ground to the tub. Mic (not shown) loops over the roll bar and attaches to a small strong magnet, also held by the large hose clamp.

I have mine mounted to the dash above the tcase shifter and the antenna is mounted behind the driver side tail light. I'll have pictures up once my image hosting site decides to come back up.

Mine is mounted vertically to the right of the gear shift, with the CB hanging to the right of the steering wheel. Works nicely and is not in the way. If I did it over again, I would likely get the mounting bracket to have it top left of hte steering wheel on the dash, but... where it is is outta sight outta mind.

Antenna is driver side mid hood, its good on this side so I can grab and hold it while going in parking structures.

I also have the Cobra 75WX all-in-one handset and the 3' Firestik mounted with the RuggedRidge tail light mount. It works great. Had to go 3' to get in my garage since the tail light mount is more than 1' higher than a bumper mount.

Yeah I got the Teraflex mount (it really should be half the price it is) and a 3' Wilson Flex antenna from rightchannelradios

I first mounted mine down by the TC shifter but got tired of leaning forward all the time to adjust stuff or change the channels. I next mounted it overhead using shelving brackets zip-tied to the rollbar and liked it... until I took the top off. It felt weird to me to have it over my head so I got the Rugged Ridge dash mount and like it a lot better. The mic hooks to the visor with a hook I fashioned out of a clothes hanger. I don't have any good pictures, but theres an external speaker mounted above the rear view using the footman loop screws. You can see it a little in the second picture. It's plenty loud with the top down.

The Firestick antenna is mounted to what I think is a TeraFlex taillight mount.

I haven't had a problem with it yet, but I don't do mud either. It just gets mostly dusty clay and dirt. It got rained on last summer when an unexpected storm came through and it still works Of course my stupid drain plugs were still in from the winter too. You should have seen everyone's face as I drove by the front entrance at work while it was still coming down in buckets. The doors and top were at home an hour away.

Blade, That setup is sweet! I have the 75WX sitting in my garage waiting for its install. Im gonna have to steal your idea! A little off topic but could you post a close up of your backup light? I need a little more light at night when im loading up the boat and that looks like it would work great. Thanks

Thanks. The box is installed on a metal plate right behind that dash hole, as far as the mic goes, it is a craigslist find, it lights up when on. Laters,

I have my cb mounted on a custom mount from roll bar to roll bar right above the rear view mirror. My antenna is mounted on a raised mount coming off the spare mount right next to the top of the third brake light. I'll take some pics tonight.

Do you have ppics of your mount? I'm designing something now to fit in the same location.

I mounted mine above the radio on the dash where that little tray is. I like it there because I can see it without taking my eyes off the road if I need to adjust the volume or change channels. Antenna is a four foot firestik mounted on the driver side tail light.

I too went with a Cobra 75 WXST

I put the control box under the drivers seat, ran the power cable up under the console coming out right under the Cigar lighter/Power point and tapped it in to the Cigar lighter circuit.

Then I used an eBay vendors passenger side Tail lamp mount along with a 4' firestik and I then ran my cable (forgive the use of the Grey one pictured but soon to be a Black on) under the carpet up to the Center console and then just out the side of the center console into the CB's Control box.

I let the Mic/Control/Hand held module then run back to the clip mounted on the face of the Center control Bezel that surrounds the Radio/HVAC controls/Power points.

Most components I got off Amazon that were Prime eligible except the CB unit itself was an eBay pick up as well as the mount was.

The following are shipping included prices:

Amazon

Firestick II 4 foot Black = $21.50
Stud w/so connector and Firestik Spring = $20.03
Cable = $9.79

eBay

eBay manufacturer TJ Tail Lamp mount = $19.50
CB 75 WXST used but perfect - $69.99

Grand total $140.81 in the entire project.

Had the SWR meter already.

Great SWR and seems, so far, to be clean enough power.

I have the same set up. I love it. I mount my mic on the panel under the steering wheel and to the right. Also, my antenna is on the passenger side tail light.

How hard is it for you to take the top off with the switches and such mounted above the drivers side visor?

It's not as long as 1 bolt goes up from the bottom. It's got to swing about 2" to get the latches out. I used 1/2 angle and welded the CB bracket and angled it towards the drivers side. Then I add the flat metal on the drivers side because of vibrations and it makes a good switch panel. Just make sure you have enough room for the antenna wire in the back. Mines real close.
