im sorry your stuff got jacked....but this sounds suspicously like the person knows you....entering auto larcenys are generally crimes of oppurtunity...they wouldve taken your radio first...they get more for that than a cb...and also generally wont rip open the door if locked...

Saddest part...
If all they stole was a CB....probability is its another off-roader.

Most sh_t-bags know they are too easy to track and only bring about $15 at a pawn shop...so it probably wasnt stolen for re-sale.

Hard top won't stop a thief, they will only smash a window. I don't lock my doors and leave anything worth stealing in it. Once someone went in and emptied my glovebox and console contents on the floor and got nothing. They were so dumb they left the loose change in the front of the console. GPS, computers, and other electronics is what they are looking for.

When GPS units first came out the thieves looked for the telltale sign of the windshield mount, after the owner removed it, so they will smash your window to look for it in your car.

Had the guys break into about 8 homes on my road, took 3 knives, broke my center console like yours only mine wasn't locked, the lock was just set it you know what I mean. They tried to steal a sub I had just put in. I woke up in the middle of the night and ran them down, They left the sub at the end of my driveway. I stopped the one, scared the piss out of him, and the other one ditched a fourwheeler he was on and ran off. They were on ATV and dirt bike they had also stole. They got away with stuff in an SUV they were in, but the cops apparently have them in custody. Moral of the story is, even when the cops get them, you will probably never see your stuff or any money other than a 1 dollar check every months after the years it takes to sentence them. If you do catch them beat them senseless, I wish I would have... The best advice I can give is to not let it both you or worry you, you probably feel like someone has violated you and rightly so, but you can't do anything so accept it and put it in the past, and think about how much worse it could be. Keep the 12 gauge loaded and get a dog so you can scare the SOBs next time. Oh and I live in a very rural area, never thought it would happen to me.

If I caught someone stealing my stuff to qoute "Pulp Fiction" I'd go midevil on his arse. After the much deserved butt whoopin he would wake to find himself strapped to the hot AZ desert floor with me under a beach umbrella with a big glass of Lemonade, a spray mist bottle of honey glaze and a ample supply of Fire Ants. (Think you guys can see where this is going) so at daybreak, lightly mist the SOB with the honey glaze under the hot AZ sun and then sprinkle a few fire ants on him. Then every 1/2 hour just repeat the process.

Not that I've put much thought on this mind you.

Reminds me of a newspaper article I saw where some D-Bag robbed a Salvation Army kettle and a group of Marines were nearby, when one Marine tried to stop him, the theif stabbed him with a small knife. Needless to say when the police arrived they found the theif laying on the ground with a broken nose, broken jaw, two black eyes, a few missing teeth, broken arm and broken ribs that all the Marines swore happened when the theif fell after stepping off the curb.

Ooo-rah! That's how we roll!

I had a GPS stolen out of my Jeep once but I blame myself for that one. Top and doors were off and it was mounted on the drivers side windshield in plain sight. I never lock anything and only keep spare bolts, fuses, zipties, and bulbs in the console and glove. There is nothing in my Jeep that is worth it to a thief. My worry is of vandals who have lower morals than thieves.

I have a family of delinquents that live across the street from me that I keep an eye on. One has an ankle bracelet because he's been arrested for everything from arson to grand theft auto. I hope they've seen how much I care for my Jeep to understand that if anything ever happens to it there'd be a steep price to pay if caught (by me and not the cops).

I caught a guy trying to steal my CB. I have the overhead console from Tuffy. Hahaha man his day was fun!! I walked outside cause my dogs were goin crazy (two 130 pund great pyrenees lab mixes) I walked outside with my super V and my dogs and the guy lookup with to the barrel of my gun pointed at his head and my two dogs about to tear him up and he got out of my Jeep, put his hands up and got down on the ground. I didn't even ask him. I said,"Done this before?" He says," Yea, but never been caught by someone armed" I told him," You just f***ed with the wrong guy." Scared him half to death, but I told him not to move or it would be the last move he made. I called the police and they arrested him. It was a fun day for me! and my two dogs =]! Sorry about your stuff man=/

Ill post pics in a few. But yes, I love it. No one can get into it. Only problem is, which is on my part, is that i made the wires too short so when i open and close it, the CB comes upplugged and i have to take out the tray (PITA). I leave it down now but there is still no way your getting it unless you know the correct way of getting it and have the right alan wrench. I got mine for a 100 bucks of craigslist, it was in pretty bad condition, but I just greased up all the hinges, stopped at lowees to get the correct bolts and d rings and we were set. Works beautifully now. The install was a PITA as well but as long as you have extra hands you should be fine. It was worth the money and i would recomend it!

Who the hell steals a cb? I don't even think they could try and pawn one for any money.. Hell I called a few pawn shops before I bought a cheap wallyworld cobra cb and they basically said 'this isn't the early 90s, nobody pawns CBS anymore' lol

still have several base and mobile units but it's a dying hobby. bout the only ones left that still use em are off roaders, truckers, and a few die hards. have one in both pickup/TJ and turn it on once in a while and maybe i'll catch someone on-but usually not. rem the days when i had my am chat buddies going to work, comming home from work and the evening crowd. ahhhh, the good ole days

Ah, this reminds me of several stories of thefts that my dad has told me of. The funniest one was when he was taking a shower and he heard someone knock on the door, few seconds later it was kicked in, turns out it was the neighbor who he had mentioned to in small talk as he was coming home by theirs, that he was going to an away basketball game (girls highschool bb coach) that would take him until 3 am, turns out it was canceled, and long story short, he wound up chasing the guy up the street naked.

The one that has to do with a Jeep is when he had his 87, and he built some nice wooden sub boxes that he mounted to the top of the rear fender. He was at the hospital visiting his mother who was dying with cancer, and some d-bag decided to smash the wooden boxes to get at the speakers. He said it was probably good he didn't catch him doing it, because if had he would have killed him. :/
