Ok, I have my 98 wrangler with an in dash cd player head unit and Im going to be taking the top and doors off for a while. I want to do somthing to make my jeep more secure.
Besides not having a head unit at all, what have you guys done to keep your radio secure? I don't want to put it in the glove box and I dont want it on the floor because of water : ) and I do not have a center console arm rest in mine.... kinda limits me but I thought you may have some suggestions and maybe pics of what you have done... THANKS!
Also, if you have it mounted in your overhead tuffy how did that turn out?

hehe seems like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place here.
An overhead box sounds like a pretty good idea.
Just make a solid box. Put a cover in front of it with a lock on there and be done w/ it. Good stuff is you dont even have to open it unless you want to change cds or whatever. Just use the remote to switch tunes.
$119 Plus if you do a search for promo codes you can find a 20% discount code. I have it in my jeep and love it. No CD player but it takes the usual memory card that you would use in a camera to store mp3s on. Buy a cheap 4gig card and store over 1k songs on it. Plus an upside is that your music will never skip or scratch!
yea I was hoping not to have to spend the money on one with a removable faceplate but we will see...
a radio with a removable face plate isn't any more expensive then one with a permanent face plate. most have a removable face plates, and the ones that do come with a screw or two to secure it so it doesn't come off.
